Happy Saturday, friends!
I wanted to come to you today with a blog post all about an important part of my daily life: my planner! I have been using a paper planner for going on six years now and it has totally saved my sanity, especially after becoming a Mother! Everything goes in my planner – and not just the important events, appointments and to do lists! I also use it as a memory keeper to record fun moments and I love to decorate my weeks with fun washi tape and stickers. Every time I post about planning on my Instagram I get a ton of questions about which planner I use, my planner essentials and all the details that goes into planning so I figured it was time to share in a blog post!
I am so excited to partner with Aria’s Daydream to plan my week and share her amazing sticker shop with you!
I ordered my first Erin Condren Life Planner in 2014 and I haven’t gone back since! I had been using an iPhone calendar app called PocketLife (which I still have for on the go planning!) but I really wanted to get into paper planning for not only productivity but as a creative outlet. I discovered a huge planner community and was introduced to washi tape, planner stickers, fun post-it notes and all of the other accessories that give me creative freedom. I treat my planner not only as a productive tool but as a scrapbook as well.
Erin Condren Life Planner
Like I mentioned, I have been using an Erin Condren since 2013 and I truly cannot see myself making the switch to a different planner. While their planners may be more expensive then a planner you could pick up at say Target, for me it’s worth the investment. The quality is amazing and there are so many add ons and personalized accessories you can order. They also have three different types of planner styles: vertical, horizontal and hourly. I am a vertical planner!
FRIXION PENS
I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my planner because I love to look back over the years and see what went on during that given time. I don’t want to cross anything out if plans change or when I make a mistake. I found the Frixion Erasable Pens and they are the BEST! They are the only pens I use in my planner and I have a rainbow of colors in my stash.
WASHI TAPE
If you haven’t heard of washi tape yet you’re missing out! It’s a versatile way to decorate your planner or can be used to highlight important dates or events. You can find Washi Tape almost anywhere these days. I have found it at Target, Michaels, Amazon, and even Dollar Tree! It comes in a variety of widths, colors and patterns.
STICKERS
I can say that I have loved collecting stickers my entire life. I still have all of my sticker books from when I was a kid! I knew that planning with stickers was right up my alley. From fun to functional – there are stickers for EVERYTHING! There are so many Etsy shops where you can find stickers specifically made for the Erin Condren Life Planner and one of my favorites is Aria’s Daydream. She makes full kits with everything you need to plan your week or month as well as individual sheets with fun functional stickers!

So how do I plan? I do a lot of pre-planning the weeks (or months!) ahead with post it notes to save important dates and appointments as well as my husband’s work schedule.

a very important week ahead in my 2019 planner!
When it comes time to sit down and plan I decide if I am going to do a certain theme or a sticker kit for that particular week. This week I used the Autumn Splendor full kit from Aria’s Daydream! It was a gorgeous fall theme that I thought was absolutely perfect for the first week of November with the blue, orange and gold. The kit contained everything I needed to plan out my week…plus more!
Another thing I include in my planner are the lists of activities and seasonal living that I plan to do with Juliette. My planner also holds blog post and photoshoot ideas. It is very helpful to have everything written down in one place because it can get overwhelming!
This week I had two blog posts going live that I needed to remember, a fun Panara breakfast with my Mom and Juliette, and of course miscellaneous to do lists and errands. I had so much fun decorating this week with all of the festive stickers and it will be fun week to look back on.
Using fun and functional stickers in my planner not only keeps me on track and organized, but it’s so much more fun to do and to look back on over the years!
Are you into paper planning like I am? I’d love to hear! Also, if you are new to the Erin Condren world and would like $10 off your first planner I have a coupon code HERE! And don’t forget to check out Aria’s Daydream…you won’t be disappointed!
