This girl! I swear I say it every month but Juliette is so much fun! She is a still her happy and busy self. She has almost figured out crawling as she gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. But she’s definitely on the go! She army crawls around (and after me!) and goes to get what she wants. I realize I haven’t mentioned her nicknames in an update so I definitely want to document them! Her Daddy and I call her angel girl, pretty, snuggle bunny, baby girl and turkey bird. Watching her learn and develop her personality day after day is one of my favorite parts of Motherhood so far. One day we were reading and all of a sudden she started to turn the pages. Now when I say, “all done!” she closes the book. It’s amazing. Juliette is so strong willed (alway has been) and loves to smile!
We have turned a corner…I repeat, we have turned a corner! I am thrilled to report that Juliette has made great improvements on her sleep just these past two weeks. She now takes three naps per day, roughly at 9:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Her first two naps can range from 1-2 hours and her third nap is always short, around 30 minutes. I remember the days where she never slept longer than 30 minutes each nap and I would scramble to get anything done. Two hours is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I know this is a very controversial subject, but I will share that we finally had to do the cry it out (CIO) method. I am not being dramatic when I say that we tried EVERYTHING for months on end to try and improve her sleep and nothing worked. One night we finally said we were going to do it and we were shocked that she only cried for 3-4 minutes…and then put herself to sleep! She will still wake a handful of times in the night and cry (now it’s more like a whine) for a few minutes and then she goes right back to sleep on her own! Last night she slept from 7:30pm-7:10am with waking for one nursing session at 3:30am. I think I heard angels sing! Waking with her every 1.5-2 hours and nursing that frequently all night long for weeks on end was really wearing on me. I am so proud of her!
Juliette came down with her first cold this month. She was feverish for two days and then had a gunky nose for a week. It was miserable! It made sleep that much worse because the poor thing couldn’t breath through her nose. And please tell me why we didn’t get the Nose Frida sooner?! Okay, it’s because the concept is totally gross but the thing is magic. We could not get anything out with the traditional nose bulb but with the Nose Frida…well I’ll spare you the details but let’s just say it made the world of difference in de-boogifying her nose. I highly recommend!
