Although there are definitely daily challenges, I must say this age is SO fun! She is so smart and is picking up new things daily. It feels like the clock struck midnight on her second birthday and she suddenly had a boat load of more energy and is even more wild than before! But Juliette is also so sweet and loves to cuddle, give big squeezes and lots of kisses.
When speaking of the challenges, this age is very trying. I don’t want to call them “terrible twos” because they’re not terrible – but trying. I am now six months pregnant so trying to keep my patience and manage her tantrums have become quite the challenge. Juliette gets very frustrated if she does not understand why we cannot do something or if I tell her “no” and I am trying to keep in mind that her little brain is processing everything and it is developmentally normal. I try to get on her level and explain and then distract to something else.
After she turned 18 months she turned into a good sleeper, and she is even better now. She lays down in her crib without fuss between 7:45-8:00pm and falls asleep well on her own. She typically wakes up between 7:00-7:30am with the occasional early rise. We are planning on transitioning her to a toddler bed within the next few weeks. She has attempted to climb out of her crib so we feel it is best for us to make the transition before her baby brother is born. Wish us luck!
