I received a Bloomlife pregnancy tracker in exchange for my honest review.
As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
I am currently 34 weeks along and things are starting to get real! Looking back, I could probably count on one hand how many Braxton Hicks contractions I felt during my first pregnancy and they were uncomfortable yet bearable. This time around? I am experiencing more frequent and painful Braxton Hicks. I am thrilled to have teamed up with Bloomlife so I can understand what my body is going through in preperation for D-Day 2.0!
Once you receive your box you will find the Bloomlife sensor, 5 patches and a charging cord. You will also need to download the Bloomlife app on your smart phone. I felt that set up was very user friendly. You snap the sensor in one of the patches, apply 3 fingers below your belly button and the app will start to calibrate. It is best to be seated and relaxed to get the most accurate session.
Bloomlife automatically tracks and records frequency, duration and patterns of your contractions. You are able to watch contractions in real-time via the app. It is non-invasive and measures uterine activity with electrophysiology. It is completely passive, safe and clinically validated for continuous use.
Bloomlife is charged at a rate of $20 per week. You are able to decide how long or short you’d like to have the device. Once baby is born you put everything back in its box and pop it back in the mail!
I began to use Bloomlife around the 32 week mark when I started to experience frequent contractions. It is awesome to see my body contracting in real time in the comfort of my own home. It’s wild to see contractions happen that I can’t necessarily feel! It gives me peace of mind of what is going on in my body and makes me feel more at ease seeing the data clearly, and since all of the sessions are stored on the app I am even able to share with my doctor if need be. While the sensor will not tell you when it’s labor go time it is a great tool for you to distinguish the practice contractions from the real ones. And while I am a second time mom, this is entirely new to me! I am glad to have an aid in identifying my contractions.
PROS
+ The monitor and app are very user friendly
+ The sensor patch can be taken on and off the body for up to one week until the adhesive has worn out – additional patches can be requested free of charge
+ No need to work at timing contractions, the wearable monitor does the job for you
+ Real time view of your contractions on your smart phone
+ Can share contraction data with health care team
CONS
+ Not waterproof. The only reason I say this is because for some reason I tend to get a lot of contractions while I am in the shower!
+ You have to be seated and relaxed for the device to be accurate. I get contractions all throughout the day and I am not able to sit to monitor them with a wild two year old in tow. But I do enjoy putting it on in the evenings to see what my body is up to.
